The UL Lafayette Winter Guard has grown since it was formed as an exhibition group in 2004. The Guard began to compete in 2006, performing in the Louisiana Color Guard and Percussion Circuit. It was named Circuit Champion in 2006 and 2007. In it’s first year of Winter Guard International Competition, the Guard was the 2007 Independent A Pensacola Regional Champion and places in the semifinals and 2007 WGI Championships.
Membership is by audition only. The group rehearses in the spring semester only and course credit is available.
